Superintendent's Message

December 5, 2018

In less than two weeks, schools and administration offices in the Harlandale ISD will be closed for winter break.

Classes will be held a half-day on Dec. 20 before early release. Elementary students will be dismissed at 12:30 p.m., middle school will let out at 1 p.m., and high school students will be released at 1:30 p.m.  Jan. 4 will be a staff work day, and students will return to class on Jan. 7.

The Harlandale ISD Clothing Closet is a great place to donate second-hand clothing. Our social workers rely on donations to keep the closet stocked. At this time of year there is a special need for new socks and underwear, gently used coats and jackets of all sizes, and hygiene items.   Donations of food items are also appreciated and can be dropped off at the Sosa Parent Ed Center, located at 901 March Avenue.  For more information, please contact Brian Jaklich at 210-989-4496.

Congratulations to Mr. Richard Hernandez and the Business Office staff for once again earning a perfect score of 100 on the annual Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST) report. This reflects the dedication to excellent financial management and good stewardship as we strive to provide the maximum funding for instructional purposes.
