The first day of school is Aug. 27, and we are looking forward to welcoming returning students and welcoming new enrollees.

Elementary school hours are 7:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.  Middle School hours are 7:55 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.  Harlandale and McCollum High School hours are 8:20 a.m. to 4:05 p.m.  STEM Early College High School hours are 8:25 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Frank Tejeda Academy students attend from 8:20 a.m. to 3:55 p.m.  Students who attend Vestal and Carroll Bell Elementary schools will begin the school year at the new campus buildings.

All of our campuses are holding open registration for new students. Parents with a photo ID will need to show their student’s birth certificate, Social Security card, immunization records, last report card, as well as a utility bill or apartment lease for proof of residency. Students are required to have up-to-date shot records to enroll.

The ACE program will host registration events on Aug. 13 and 14 between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. and on Aug. 17 and 23 between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.  This program is offered before and after school for students in grades K-12 and is free to all qualifying students. ACE aligns after school activities with the school day by providing tutoring, homework assistance and enrichment opportunities. For more information, call the ACE office at 210-989-4453.

Season tickets to all home football games of the Harlandale Indians and McCollum Cowboys will be on sale Aug. 13 - 24 at the Athletics Department, located at 1201 96th Street. Office hours are 8:30 a.m.to 4 p.m. Only cash payments will be accepted.

The district is accepting nominations for the Hall of Fame through Sept. 5. Harlandale, McCollum and Frank Tejeda alumni who graduated in 2003 or before, as well as community members who have served the Harlandale area for 10 or more years, are eligible for nomination.
