Proud family members, friends and district staff filled the McCollum HS auditorium to celebrate the 84 Frank Tejeda Academy Class of 2017 graduates.
FTA Principal Ricardo Salmon kicked-off the ceremony by welcoming the guests and introducing graduate and Master of Ceremonies Nolan Livesay, who expressed gratitude toward FTA staff, board members and the Harlandale community for their support.
Harlandale ISD Board of Trustees President Carlos Quezada was on hand to congratulate the graduates and left them with the message, “where there is a will, there is a way.”
FTA graduate Abigail Moreno spoke about the struggles and adversities she faced before finally reaching this monumental milestone.
“I never thought I would make it this far, but I did, and I did it with the help of everyone at Frank Tejeda and my own determination,” Moreno said. “Don’t tell me I can’t, because I can.”
After Abigail’s inspiring story, Superintendent Rey Madrigal accepted the certification of diplomas presented and congratulated the graduates.
You did, Frank Tejeda Academy Class of 2017!
