The McCollum High School football team donated more than 2,000 school supplies to benefit Harlandale ISD students.

The team and their coach, Matthew Uzzell, dropped off the supplies to Social Worker Wilma Gibson at Carroll Bell Elementary on June 4. She will be in charge of distributing the supplies to students in need throughout the district. The items include pocket folders, glues, composition books, pencils, crayons, notebooks and scissors.

The McCollum Cowboys collected the supplies during their spring game at Memorial Stadium on June 1.

“With our green and gold game, part of the admission was to donate school supplies, and we had an unbelievable turnout from the community,” Coach Uzzell said. “We want to thank Ms. Gibson for receiving the truckload of supplies and distribute them. We’re just really excited and humbled to have an opportunity to help out.”

Way to go, MHS Cowboys!
