To kick off the first week of Bullying Prevention Month, IMPACT students at Leal Middle School hosted a #BlueOutBullying Day on Oct. 4.

All students, faculty and staff were encouraged to wear blue to show that the campus is committed to being a bully-free zone.

For IMPACT President Juliet Hernandez, it was important to spread awareness and take a stand against bullying.

“Bullying is a big issue in schools these days, and we just need to make it stop already,” the eighth grader said. “The whole month of October, we will be making announcements, and we put up posters around the halls. I hope we can spread awareness and put an end to bullying.”

The day was a success as many students seen wearing blue and teachers sported blue ribbons in support of #BlueOutBullying Day.

“It makes me feel good to see everyone in blue because it lets me know that they are supporting it and want to put an end to bullying too,” Juliet concluded.

Way to go, Leal MS!
