We are grateful to our outstanding teachers for educating, encouraging and building character within our students each day.  Our teachers selflessly invest countless hours preparing lessons, tutoring and volunteering their time for extracurricular activities. They serve as daily role models for our students and act heroically when the situation requires ensuring the safety and security of our children. National Teacher Day is May 2.

Our Child Nutrition staff is to be commended for preparing healthy meals, adhering to strict nutrition standards and serving our students with courtesy and kindness.  Thanks to their efforts, our children benefit from having nutritious breakfasts and lunches every day. Child Nutrition Appreciation Day is May 4.

Nurses Appreciation Week is celebrated May 6-12. Our school nurses do much more than hand out band aids and ice packs. Our nurses are prepared for emergency situations, they keep track of immunizations records, conduct blood sugar tests, manage sprains and much more. Harlandale ISD would like to thank all of our school nurses for keeping our students healthy and safe. Nurse Appreciation Day is May 10.

Frank Tejeda’s graduation will take place on June 1 at the McCollum High School Auditorium. The Freeman Coliseum will be the site of McCollum High School’s graduation on June 7 and Harlandale High School’s graduation on June 8.
