Adams Elementary students enjoy classical music concert

Students at Adams Elementary School took a much deserved break from studying to enjoy a classical music concert on March 28.

Third, fourth and fifth grade students gathered at the school’s library to listen to Camerata San Antonio, a talented string quartet.

Ken Freudigman (cello), Matthew Zerweck (violin), Anastasia Parker (violin) and Emily Freudigman (viola) delivered a captivating performance, which included Mozart’s “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik.”

Students also had the opportunity to ask the musicians interesting questions, where they learned more about the different instruments and musical notes.

Principal Leticia Rodriguez said the concert was a treat for the students, who have been working hard to prepare for the STAAR tests.

“The students really enjoyed it, and we just wanted to do something that was relaxing for them,” she said. “Right now we’re in full blown STAAR preparation, and so it was just a nice break for them to really enjoy some nice music. It was very entertaining!”
