Carroll Bell ES preps for the future

Carroll Bell Elementary students got excited about growing up thanks to Career Day.

The special day featured 20 guest speakers as well as representatives from six colleges and the military branch.

Students got to hear from firefighters, the San Antonio Police Department Crime Scene Unit and many others.

“Career Day is important for students because they are able to learn about a variety of jobs available to them,” school counselor Kimberly Salinas said. “They also make connections from what they are learning in school to real world situations.”

Guest speakers and representatives encouraged students to stay in school and to chase their dreams.

Students in fourth and fifth grade got to visit the College Fair set up in the library for them, while students in first and third grade got to meet representatives from San Antonio College.

“It’s important to get students thinking at an early age about where they want to go to school,” Salinas added.
