Collier and Vestal teachers go the extra mile

Collier and Vestal Elementary teachers took personal time out of their weekend to learn more about the best practices for guided reading.

The dedicated teachers attended a training last Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Collier Principal Patricia Garcia and Vestal Principal Marianela Gonzalez are both extremely proud and appreciative to all of the teachers who attended.

“As more learning about the nuts and bolts of guided reading occurred, there was a lot of collaboration, ‘aha’ moments and connections made by all of us,” Ms. Garcia said. “We are very grateful to all the teachers from Vestal and Collier for their dedication to their profession and their commitment to our students.”

Ms. Gonzalez also shared her appreciation for the dedicated attendees.

“We are extremely grateful and proud of the commitment Vestal and Collier teachers have for our students,” Ms. Gonzalez said. “They gave eight hours of the weekend to come and learn reading strategies that will help our students develop a love for reading and become lifelong readers.”

Great job, Vestal and Collier teachers!
