Columbia Heights teacher receives Greater San Antonio McDonalds Award

Columbia Heights fourth grade teacher Nancy Cisneros won the Greater San Antonio McDonalds Owner Association-Teacher of the Month Twitter Contest. Cisneros was nominated by two of her fellow faculty members for this award, they both stated that she is an amazing teacher and truly cares for her students.

Shelly Contreras, McDonalds local owner, surprised Cisneros at this Thursday’s staff meeting to give her the great news. Cisneros received a certificate, $75 in McDonalds gift cards for her and her family and school supplies for 30 of her students.

“We always run out of supplies, so this is a lot of help and will definitely come in handy next year,” said Cisneros. “It is an honor, and I feel very thankful to have received this award.”

Cisneros has been with Columbia Heights Elementary for seven years and says, “The one thing that puts a smile on my face is knowing that our classroom is a family, which makes me very happy.”
