Frank Tejeda Jr. Academy hosted its first ever award ceremony to recognize their eighth grade students who have earned top honors in the first six weeks of school.

“Frank Tejeda Jr. Academy students take high school courses simultaneously with their eight grade requirements, so their ability to achieve academically needs to be celebrated,” Frank Tejeda Principal Ricardo Salmon said.

The entire eighth grade student body cheered on their classmates as they went up to receive their A or A/B honor roll certificate during an assembly on Oct. 14 inside the Judge Andy Mireles Library on the campus of the Frank Tejeda Academy.

In addition to the academic honors, FTA students Noel Martinez and Aviana Serna were recognized as the first recipients of the Bronco Award.

“The award is given to model students who work diligently and do their best to exemplify the Bronco way,” Salmon explained.
