GT students show appreciation for bus drivers

GT thanks transportation

Harlandale ISD bus drivers were surprised with colorful thank you cards, letters and drawings made by Gifted and Talented (GT) students Tuesday morning in honor of National Bus Safety Week.

The bus drivers were happy to see more than 300 cards created just for them filled with heartwarming messages such as “We ‘wheely’ appreciate you” and “Thank you for going the extra mile.”

“I really appreciate the letters that were sent to us, they made my day!” Harlandale ISD Bus Driver Nate Meza said.

Many of them exchanged and shared the cards amongst each other as they enjoyed a delicious breakfast provided by the GT department and Whataburger at the MOST building.

“Our department thought this week would be the perfect time to recognize our bus drivers,” GT Facilitator Sonia Cuellar said. “These bus drivers are picking up our GT kids on a weekly basis and have formed a relationship with them. In return, our kids just wanted to offer them a small token of appreciation for always doing an incredible job.”

Thank you for keeping our students and staff safe, Harlandale ISD bus drivers!
