The Gillette Elementary library was transformed into a Book Prom celebration last Friday.

The Candyland themed party featured a king, a queen and a photo booth. A total of 132 students were the royal guests as they met their reading goal for the school year.

Each student that reached their goal received four books at the celebration.

The reading goal for students in kinder through second grade was to read 40 books and take 40 AR tests with a 70 or above average.

For students in grades third through fifth, the goal was to read 80 books and take 80 AR tests with a 70 or above average.

HEB donated the free books and a $100 HEB gift card to help with refreshments.
