A special luncheon was held at Terrell Wells Middle School in honor of the 130 custodians that work tirelessly to keep every campus clean and beautiful in Harlandale ISD.

The custodians were treated to delicious hamburgers, sausage wraps, nachos, cake and much more.

District Facility Supervisor David Gonzalez recognized the hard work and dedication of every custodian and handed out several door prizes during the event, which included fun mugs, ice chests and $50 gift cards.

“We try to have this at least once a year in appreciation of our custodians for all of the hard work that they do,” Gonzalez said. “We work as a family, everyone knows each other, and it’s nice to just see everyone together once a year.”

At the end of each school year, all the custodians begin hard work. They have to clean out classrooms, vacuum all floors and so much more. The luncheon is a big thank you for all of their hard work during the summer.

“Our custodians are a great group to work with, so it’s great to enjoy this atmosphere and see all the friends together today,” Gonzalez concluded.
