Harlandale HS softball player signs with Hill College

Congratulations to Harlandale High School senior Nadia Dominguez for signing her letter of intent to play softball at Hill College on Dec. 11.

Family, friends, coaches and administrators gathered at the Student Union to witness Nadia put pen to paper and to celebrate the big milestone.

Prior to the official signing, Harlandale HS Head Softball Coach Shelbey Veselka shared special remarks about Nadia.

“I can honestly say she is everything that a coach wants to see in her players,” Veselka said. “She is hard working and her teammates look up to her leadership. She gets along with everyone and she always makes everyone feel included. I can honestly say that every single one of her teammates would agree with me.”

Veselka went on to say that Nadia’s attitude and determination are contagious and she makes Veselka want to be a better coach.

“I am so excited for this new chapter in Nadia’s life and I know that she will continue to strive to be the best that she can be,” Veselka added. “This journey will challenge her in ways that she has never been challenged before, it will teach her more than she has ever been taught before, but there is no doubt in my mind that Nadia will not only be successful at Hill College, but in life in general.”

Nadia not only works hard on the field, but in class as well. She earned the A-honor roll for both the first and second six weeks.

Way to go, Nadia! You make Harlandale ISD proud.
