Harlandale ISD celebrates Veterans Honor Night

Before the action kicked-off at the Harlandale HS vs. Eagle Pass Winn football game last Friday, Harlandale ISD paid a special tribute to the veterans in the community.

A reception was held at the southwest end of the field with food and beverages for veterans to enjoy. Afterward, a patriotic ceremony was held on the track in recognition of the brave men and women.

The Harlandale HS JROTC Color Guard presented the National and Texas flags along with the flags of the Armed Services, POW/MIA and Unit Flags.

Harlandale HS senior Kina Rodriguez sang a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem. Each branch of the military was then called out as veterans walked underneath the Sabers on the southern side of the track. Veterans saluted the flags and shook hands with district administrators and board members present.

Harlandale ISD thanks all of our veterans for their bravery and for their service.

We would also like to invite all members of the armed forces to join us for a Veterans Day Ceremony on Friday, Nov. 10 at STEM Early College HS. The students and staff at the Harlandale Alternative Center and STEM Early College HS have prepared a presentation for our veterans with a special musical performance by the Gillette Spurs Choir. We hope to see you there!
