The entire Jewel Wietzel Center campus embarked on an exciting trip to see the San Antonio Missions Baseball game against the Midland Rockhounds at Wolff Stadium on April 30.

“It was an educational day, so many other schools were in attendance,” JWC Special Education Teacher Luis Semidey explained.

As part of the educational component, KENS 5 Weather Correspondent Bill Taylor gave a brief presentation about the weather before the game and later visited with JWC students in the stands.

“Our campus took this trip two years ago, so for some of our students it was their second time going, but for many of our students, this was their first time watching a live baseball game in a stadium,” Semidey said. “Even though the Missions lost the game 3-4, the students really enjoyed their time on this great trip!”

Like true baseball fans, the students and staff ate hotdogs, cheered with the crowd and smiled for plenty of photos.
