King Antonio XCVI visits Columbia Heights Elementary

King Antonio XCVI Richard Sparr and his guard of Texas Cavaliers arrived at Columbia Heights Elementary School Monday morning to recognize fifth-grade student Leland Lopez for being a finalist in this year’s River Parade Art Contest.

The students, overwhelmed with excitement, welcomed the King and his royal court with Fiesta cheers and high fives as they entered the school’s gym.

King Antonio officially presented Leland and his art teacher, Noe Garza, a certificate to celebrate their achievement and a $3,000 check to benefit their school’s art program.

The King also recognized the fifth-graders Irene Garcia and Victor Soto for being outstanding students, as well as the school’s Teacher of the Year, Cecilia Perfecto.

During his visit, King Antonio delivered an inspiring message to all students: “Dare to dream.”

“Starting right now, study hard, respect your teachers, be the best that you can be and pursue your passion, that is what daring to dream is all about,” he said.

He gifted the school the book titled “What Do You Do With a Chance?” to motivate students to take a chance and pursue their dreams.

When he asked students what they wanted to be when they grew up, one student replied “doctor” while another said “teacher.”

He concluded his visit by reminding them, “You can be anything you want to be as long as you work hard and get a good education!”

Thank you, King Antonio, and Viva Fiesta!
