Leal MS hosts pep rallies

Leal Middle School’s Student Council and Seventh Grade Club hosted a pep rally for each grade level during advisories on Dec. 14.

The exciting pep rallies featured the Leal band, the Texas A&M University-San Antonio Jaguar mascot and many enthusiastic students.

The goal behind each rally was to get the Leal Apaches excited about the two big Harlandale MS rivalry games that night. It also gave sixth grade students the opportunity to have fun with their teachers.

The campus Spirit Squad hosted two pep rallies last year, one was held to boost school spirit on campus and another was held for STAAR motivation.

“The biggest difference in this pep rally is it is highlighting student athletes and it will be completely student-led,” Student Council Sponsor Emma Spoor explained.

Student athletes emceed the event and recognized students with perfect attendance and those nominated by their teachers as Apache of the Week. They also showed recognition to their coaches.

Spoor thanks the parents, teachers and students for helping make the pep rallies a success.

Way to go, Apaches!
