Mini-Grant comes to fruition

RTI teachers recently completed the professional development cohort, "Promoting Spot-On Reading Interventions". 

This cohort was made possible by the mini-grant Lead District RTI/Reading Interventionist Nereida Burgess won last year. 

During the professional development, the book “40 Reading Intervention Strategies for K-6 Students” was utilized to ensure interventionists use researched based strategies to purposely meet the individual needs of students. 

This cohort gave them the ability to apply systematic and explicit reading intervention lessons for Tier II students by building phonological awareness, word identification skills, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
