STEM ECHS dominates robotics competition

STEM Early College High School competed in the VEX Robotics Competition held at Pope John Paul High School in Corpus Christi, TX on Jan. 14.

A total of five STEM ECHS teams entered in to the competition, two of which placed first and second respectively (Team 8451A and 8451D) in the qualifying rounds. Those two teams formed an alliance and went on to win the tournament.

This win marked Team 8451A’s third straight tournament victory this season. Team 8451A also won the Excellence Award, which is given to the Top All Around Team (Robot Performance & Judged).

Team 8451B received the Design Award, which is given to the team with the most professional design approach.

Teams 8451A, 8451B and 8451D will be headed to the South Texas Championship which will be held at Nimitz High School in Houston on Feb. 15.
