Stonewall Flanders Elementary hosts Turkey Talent Show

There was a great deal of excitement and fun during Stonewall Flanders Elementary School’s Turkey Talent Show on Nov. 2.

It wasn’t the traditional talent show where the students are usually the performers. In this event, it was the teachers and Principal Traci Smith who put on a show!

The first act “Tiny Dancers” took the stage earning loud cheers and laughs from the children and their parents. It was followed by a funny comedy sketch and a musical performance of the popular math song “It’s the Doubles, Baby.”

The children loved the song and sang along with the teacher.

Principal Smith closed the show with her act, surprising everyone with her baking skills as she whipped up a cake with the help of someone else’s arms. With every ingredient added, the kids could not stop laughing.

In the end, the children applauded for every act and chose the math song as the winner!

The event concluded with the school giving away three turkey dinners to three lucky families in attendance.

“We are so glad that the families are here” Principal Smith said. “Three of them got to take a box home. There’s a frozen turkey in there, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberries, corn, green beans and rolls, everything you need to make Thanksgiving dinner!”
