The seventh grade Terrell Wells Middle School tennis team earned multiple district championships at the district tennis tournament at Southwest High School on May 3.

Antonio Salazar entered the tournament with a 9-1 overall record and continued his hot streak with three wins over Harlandale MS, Scobee and Floresville opponents to advance to the final. Teammate Joshua Hauser entered the tournament with a perfect 8-0 record and earned a spot in the final after defeating McAuliffe, Floresville and McNair middle school opponents.

This led to an all Terrell Wells boys singles final with Antonio Salazar and Joshua Hauser competing for the district title where Salazar went on to win 6-2 to earn the district championship for TWMS.

After the boys singles matchup was determined, Giovonni Romero and Omar Romo were in the boys doubles final after coasting through the first two rounds with  back-to-back 6 - 0 victories over McAuliffe Middle School and Floresville Middle School opponents.  Giovonni and Omar found themselves in the final against Scobee Middle School. The TWMS team found themselves down 3-4 early in the championship match. After some adjustments, the TWMS duo would win three consecutive games en route to the title with a 6 - 4 victory to cap off a 7th grade boys sweep of the Singles and Doubles District Titles.
