Terrell Wells hosts a fun Night with Santa

Terrell Wells Middle School invited students and their families to attend a night out with Mr. and Mrs. Claus on Dec. 6.

The night was filled with holiday magic as students participated in a variety of fun activities and games including ornament decorating, holiday coloring, large Jenga, large Connect Four, chess and checkers. There was also Starbucks coffee, Krispy Kreme donuts, delicious popcorn and cookies for families to enjoy.

However, the highlight of the event was when the parents, teachers and students had the opportunity to meet and take a free photo with Mr. and Mrs. Claus of the San Antonio Holiday River Parade!

The night was also a great opportunity to showcase the many talents of the Terrell Wells students and teachers.

Guests were entertained with musical performances by the Terrell Wells Jazz Band, Terrell Wells Choir and Mariachi Fiesta de San Antonio featuring Terrell Wells MS Teacher Frank Garcia and eighth-grade student Joann Zuniga. At the same time, families participated in a silent auction that featured large ceramic pieces made by the Terrell Wells Advanced Art Club. Swans, stallions, decorative pitchers, fawns, vases, decorative mugs, jewelry boxes and various ornaments were purchased for $1 to $3.

A Toys for Tots Drive also took place during the event. Four service members of the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps stopped by to support the drive, and Whataburger provided free taquito vouchers and cups to each person who donated a toy.

“All the students, teachers and parent volunteers made the event a success,” Terrell Wells MS Teacher Juaquin Zavala said. “The event is still growing and continues to improve each year. We hope to continue this PTA event and see it grow further each year.”
