USAA spreads holiday cheer at Jewel Wietzel Center

JWC Winter Celebration.

USAA employees stopped by the Jewel Wietzel Center (JWC) Wednesday morning to make holiday wishes come true as part of its annual tradition “Season of Sharing.”

The students were surprised with a visit from Santa and were presented with gifts from their wish list.

To celebrate the special occasion, JWC students decorated the school’s gym with beautiful holiday decorations, sang Christmas carols and performed the play “The Nightmare Before Christmas” for the USAA guests.

“Our students look forward to this celebration every year,” JWC Principal Jennifer Bernal-Tamaren said. “It’s really special to see their reaction and the smiles on their faces when they see Santa coming in and just enjoying the festivities and being together as a family.”

The students could not contain their excitement as they received their gift and took a photo with Santa.

“We truly are grateful for USAA’s continued support and generosity. This celebration helps us to remember what this time is all about – it’s about kindness, giving and helping one another,” Bernal-Tamaren concluded.
