Hundreds of Harlandale ISD elementary students, staff and families came together to enjoy the annual Elementary Music Winter Festival held at the Harlandale High School Auditorium on Dec. 7.

The event was filled with holiday magic as students from Carroll Bell, Gilbert, Collier, Gillette, Stonewall Flanders, Bellaire, Wright, Schulze and Morrill Elementary Schools performed a variety of classics including “Jingle Bell Rock,” “Silent Night,” and “Deck the Halls.”

The young singers also sang the popular songs “Feliz Navidad” and “Rudolph, the Red Nosed Reindeer” as their proud parents looked on. The grand finale brought every choir group on stage for the song “Winter Fantasy,” which earned them a standing ovation from the audience.

Harlandale ISD Fine Arts Coordinator Omar Leos was happy to a great turnout this year.

“Our goal is to showcase our students, teachers and programs, and highlight the wonderful work they do throughout the year,” Leos said. “This was the largest attendance we have ever had. We couldn’t have asked for a better day.”
