Dear Gillette Elementary Families,

Welcome to the start of an exciting new school year! I am thrilled to embark on this journey with our amazing students, dedicated staff, and supportive families. Each new year brings opportunities for growth, learning, and building strong connections within our community, and this year will be no different.

Our school theme, "A Magical Year of Learning," reflects the wonder and excitement that comes with discovering new ideas and achieving personal growth. Just like magic, learning has the power to transform our students, sparking curiosity and inspiring creativity. This year, we are committed to creating an environment where each student can unlock their full potential and experience the joy of learning in extraordinary ways.

As we prepare for the year ahead, I want to highlight three key factors that are critical to student success: consistent attendance, responsible students, and supportive families.

Attendance Matters: When students attend school regularly, they are more likely to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. Being present allows them to engage fully in classroom learning, build positive relationships with peers, and benefit from the full range of experiences our school offers. Every day of learning counts, and together, we can ensure that our students are in school, ready to thrive.

Responsible Students: As educators, we are committed to fostering a culture of responsibility in our students. Encouraging them to take ownership of their learning, demonstrate respectful behavior, and make positive choices sets the stage for their success not only in school but in life. Responsibility helps our students develop independence and resilience, both of which are essential for achieving their goals.

Supportive Families: We know that family involvement plays a vital role in student achievement. Your encouragement, communication with teachers, and active participation in school events create a strong foundation for your child’s education. When families and schools work together, students feel supported, empowered, and more motivated to succeed.

¡Bienvenidos al comienzo de un nuevo y emocionante año escolar! Estoy encantada de embarcarme en este viaje con nuestros increíbles estudiantes, personal dedicado y familias solidarias. Cada nuevo año trae oportunidades para crecer, aprender y construir conexiones sólidas dentro de nuestra comunidad, y este año no será diferente.

El tema de nuestra escuela, "Un año mágico de aprendizaje", refleja el asombro y el entusiasmo que surge al descubrir nuevas ideas y lograr el crecimiento personal. Al igual que la magia, el aprendizaje tiene el poder de transformar a nuestros estudiantes, despertando curiosidad e inspirando creatividad. Este año, estamos comprometidos a crear un entorno donde cada estudiante pueda desbloquear todo su potencial y experimentar la alegría de aprender de maneras extraordinarias.

Mientras nos preparamos para el próximo año, quiero resaltar tres factores clave que son críticos para el éxito de los estudiantes: asistencia constante, estudiantes responsables y familias solidarias.

La asistencia importa: cuando los estudiantes asisten a la escuela con regularidad, tienen más probabilidades de tener éxito académico, social y emocional. Estar presente les permite participar plenamente en el aprendizaje en el aula, construir relaciones positivas con sus compañeros y beneficiarse de toda la gama de experiencias que ofrece nuestra escuela. Cada día de aprendizaje cuenta y juntos podemos garantizar que nuestros estudiantes estén en la escuela, listos para prosperar.

Estudiantes Responsables: Como educadores, estamos comprometidos a fomentar una cultura de responsabilidad en nuestros estudiantes. Animarlos a que se apropien de su aprendizaje, demuestran un comportamiento respetuoso y tomen decisiones positivas prepara el escenario para su éxito no sólo en la escuela sino también en la vida. La responsabilidad ayuda a nuestros estudiantes a desarrollar independencia y resiliencia, las cuales son esenciales para lograr sus objetivos.

Familias solidarias: Sabemos que la participación familiar juega un papel vital en el rendimiento estudiantil. Su aliento, comunicación con los maestros y participación activa en eventos escolares crean una base sólida para la educación de su hijo. Cuando las familias y las escuelas trabajan juntas, los estudiantes se sienten apoyados, empoderados y más motivados para tener éxito.
