The mission of the Harlandale Alternative Center is to instill confidence and self-worth by teaching meaningful social

and coping skills with our at-risk students in order to develop quality learners and contributing community members.

HAC believes in providing an environment to foster…

1.   Positive student self-worth so students can gain confidence, build appropriate relationships, and practice

beneficial social skills in order to successfully transition back to their home schools and community.

2.   Academic success through utilization of district and state resources and differentiating instruction so students

can successfully transition back to their home schools and community.

3.   Positive student behavioral changes by using restorative practices, holding students accountable for their

behaviors, and teaching appropriate interactions and coping skills which in turn would help students successfully

transition back to their home schools and community.
