Dear Harlandale ISD Parents/Guardians,
I want to let you know about a mass email that has been sent to many schools in our area, including other school districts as well. The email claims that it’s from a Russian terrorist organization and threatens violence at schools across Texas. While police do not believe this to be a credible threat, we take every instance like this seriously and the Harlandale ISD Police Department and the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) are investigating.
Police will also work with the FBI to identify the individual who sent the email, and there will be serious consequences once the source is identified.
As always we will continue to inform you and please know that the safety and well being of our students and staff is our priority.

Quiero informarles sobre un correo electrónico masivo que se envió a muchas escuelas de nuestra área, incluidos también otros distritos escolares. El correo electrónico afirma que proviene de una organización terrorista rusa y amenaza con violencia en las escuelas de todo Texas. Si bien la policía no cree que esto sea una amenaza creíble, tomamos en serio cada caso como este y el Departamento de Policía de Harlandale ISD y el Departamento de Policía de San Antonio (SAPD) están investigando.
La policía también trabajará con el FBI para identificar a la persona que envió el correo electrónico, y habrá graves consecuencias una vez que se identifique la fuente.
Como siempre continuaremos informándoles y tengan en cuenta que la seguridad y el bienestar de nuestros estudiantes y personal es nuestra prioridad.
