learn more about frontline flex pay

Harlandale ISD is leading the way as the first school district in San Antonio to offer every staff member access to Frontline Flex Pay, a financial benefits platform powered by Wagestream that offers flexible pay, financial education resources and budgeting tools.

The new platform will give Harlandale ISD employees choice over how often they’re paid, without any fees or interest charges. Those who opt in can also use the app to set financial goals and track their progress.

Offering financial benefits is proving popular in other sectors– with employers like Burger King, Crate & Barrel and Cardinal Health already using the Wagestream platform– but Harlandale ISD is among the first in education to provide this type of financial support to its staff.

“Life throws curveballs; car troubles, unexpected medical bills– these things can happen anytime,” said Mr. Gerardo Soto, Superintendent of Schools at Harlandale ISD. “We’re excited to be the first school district in San Antonio to provide Frontline Flex Pay, and offer this range of financial support. This can be a great tool if they need to take care of an expense, line up their budgeting or are just looking to learn a little more about money management.”

Through the app, Harlandale ISD staff can also get free financial coaching, while learning about budgeting, saving and other financial topics through educational resources.

“We understand that financial emergencies don’t wait for payday,” said Melinda Salinas, Executive Director of Human Resources at Harlandale ISD. “With Frontline Flex Pay, our employees can have peace of mind knowing they have choice over their own pay cycle, helping them feel financially secure.”

Anurag Mehta, EVP of Partnerships from Wagestream added: “The most recent State of Financial Wellbeing index found that record numbers of workers are willing to move jobs if offered better financial support. This is a smart move by Harlandale ISD to improve the financial lives of its hard-working employees - which, in turn, will have a measurable impact on the quality of education it’s able to provide.”

Frontline Flex Pay will be available to Harlandale ISD staff starting early May 2024.
