The Harlandale Independent School District Communications Department celebrated a remarkable achievement at the Texas School Public Relations Association's (TSPRA) annual conference. During the Star Awards Ceremony held on Wednesday, Feb. 19 in San Antonio, the department received eight awards, showcasing their exceptional work in school writing, graphic design, video and more.
TSPRA is a professional organization dedicated to improving public education in Texas through promoting effective public relations practices, providing professional development and improving communication between Texans and their public schools. Each year, TSPRA recognizes communicators in school districts, education foundations, education associations and organizations for their work in print and electronic media categories.
The TSPRA Star Awards highlights work in more than 45 categories, covering various media such as newsletters, programs, writing, image/identity packages, photography, graphics, video, campaigns, events and websites, to name a few. Larger, more comprehensive projects and special programs are entered in one of nine Crystal Commendation categories.
Of thousands of entries received from public school districts across Texas, the Harlandale ISD Communications Department clinched eight Star Awards, including Best of Category for Published News Release.
