New McCollum Basketball Head Coach Lorenzo Anthony

McCollum High School is welcoming a new face to the court as Lorenzo Anthony takes over as the Boys Head Basketball Coach. With more than a decade of coaching experience at both the collegiate and high school levels, Coach Anthony brings a track record of program-building, player development and student leadership to the Cowboys Basketball Program.

Coach Anthony recently served as the head basketball coach at Stockdale High School, where he led the team to its first playoff victory in 54 years and its first-ever undefeated district championship. Under his leadership, the program reached the regional quarterfinals and produced multiple all-district players, academic all-state honorees and college-bound athletes.

Beyond basketball, Coach Anthony also coached both the boys and girls cross country and track teams at Stockdale, making school history by leading both teams to the state level for the first time. His work extended into the classroom, where he taught health and student leadership courses and created presentations promoting healthy habits and personal growth.

His coaching experience also includes time as an assistant men’s basketball coach at St. Mary’s University and Western Texas College, where he helped lead teams to postseason championships and mentored players who went on to compete at Division I programs and play professionally overseas.

A St. Mary’s University graduate, Coach Anthony was a standout student-athlete, serving as team captain and earning multiple athletic and leadership awards during his time on campus.

McCollum High School is proud to welcome Coach Anthony to the Cowboy Family.
