This week Collier kicked off Hispanic Heritage month by having a special presentation for our students. Our music teacher, Ms DeLa Cerda, organized a wonderful learning opportunity filled with music and fun for the students. Two 5th graders presented to the audience with a short video and information regarding what Hispanic Heritage is and why it’s celebrated. The audience was then wowed by our district’s very own Harlandale High School Mariachi. The mariachi even gave some mini lessons to our students about the different parts of a mariachi ensemble.
