Dot Day at Gillette

Dot Day is a day for students to show their creativity and courage. Dot Day International for 2024 was held on Friday, September 13th. This day honors creativity in children, which all began with the book The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds. It is the story of a teacher that encourages a child to "make her mark". The girl becomes courageous and creative after beginning her journey by painting one small dot. The students at Gillette were encouraged to wear polka-dots, create colorful dots, and sing the "Dot Song" by Emily Arrow. It was a Magical Day of Learning at Gillette Elementary!
