Acceptance, Understanding, and LOVE!

☘️See you in the morning! ☘️

We are thrilled to announce that our Board Member, Mr. Moreno, generously donated Spurs tickets to our campus, which we decided to use as a reward for perfect attendance! Students who maintained perfect attendance from August 12th through February 14th were entered into a raffle for the chance to win. We're excited to share that Lillian Gonzales was the lucky winner! Lillian, an 8th-grade Lady Apache, has already excelled in volleyball, basketball, and soccer this school year, and she is also an A-B Honor Roll student. We are incredibly proud of Lillian for her dedication to showing up to school every day. We hope you had an unforgettable time! A heartfelt thank you once again to Mr. Moreno for his generous donation!

Congratulations to our Leal Varsity Choir for earning superior rating on their 2025 UIL evaluation. We are so proud of our students and staff! #apachepride”

Congratulations to our Apache Varsity and Symphonic Band for earning superior ratings and SWEEKSTAKES at the 2025 UIL Concert and evaluation!! We are so proud of you!

Our Engineering students from Mr. Garcia's class put in some work last Friday!!! #latepost
Special shout outs go to Aaleyah Hernandez and Clara Martinez on taking the "Judges Favorite" award for their engineering project- Strong House, a disaster resistant home design. Their prototype was hands down the judges favorite.
Jayden Rodriguez took the Best Presentation award at the HISD Engineering Fair. Jayden impressed the judges during his five rounds of judging where his knowledge and presentation impressed all the judges. Jayden's lightweight prototype was built out of bamboo skewers, cardboard and glue to hold over 25 pounds of weight. The judges were impressed with his well-designed structure.
Great job, Apaches! We are so proud of you!!!

Our 3 Apache teams battled it out against the 3 HMS teams today at our HISD Book Battle Royale! We are proud to say that we brought back home our first place trophy! 🥇🙌🏽 Our other two teams fought hard, and landed in 4th and 6th place. We just have to say that between each team of 4 students they read 20 books, studied, worked hard, worked together and most importantly they stuck out the program from August-February. We are beyond proud of our Apaches! Next up for them is reading to prep for our field trip! 🥰

We kicked off our spring testing this past week with TELPAS, and our 8th grade science benchmarks! Here are some more upcoming and important testing dates! Please remember to charge your chromebooks at home and bring them to school along with your chargers. If you are in need of a charger, you may purchase one from Mrs. Esparza-Ramos in the front office for $15!

NJHS would like to congratulate some of our amazing teachers that have been awarded teacher of the week.
Mrs. Reinaas has been a pillar to our school for many years. She is our 8th grade US history teacher as well as a department chair. She is always looking for ways to engage her students so that our history is not a thing of the past. Thank you Mrs. Reinaas for always pushing our kids to not only be the best students for our school, but also the best citizens for our community
Another shining star among our teachers is Mrs. Martinez, we are so thankful to have her join our campus this year. This is her first year with us here at Leal, but she has hit the ground running, pushing our kids inside and outside the classroom. Not only does she teach ELA but she coaches basketball and she helps with our Book Club. We are so Thankful for all your support

Today, we reminded our Apaches to PUSH (Persevere Until Success Happens) and celebrated their commitment to attendance and learning with a motivational snack bag!
