A big thank you to the Allen Eagle Robotics team for leading this week’s Robotics Camp at our Harlandale ISD Makerspace at the JWC Center! Through the BEST of Texas Robotics Camp Code Tour, our students had the opportunity to explore hands-on coding, building and wiring– all under the guidance of talented student mentors. We’re proud to be part of this statewide initiative that’s sparking curiosity in future innovators! _________________________________________________________________________ ¡Muchas gracias al equipo de Robótica de Allen Eagle por dirigir el Taller de Robótica de esta semana en el Centro Makerspace de Harlandale en el JWC! Join us in congratulating Schulze Elementary’s Madison Ruiz, winner of the districtwide STEM art contest! Her artwork inspired local muralist Noe Garza’s latest creation, which now welcomes every visitor to the Harlandale Makerspace at the JWC Center. As part of the unveiling, Madison had the honor of signing the mural, a proud moment that kicks off what will become an annual tradition. ____________________________________________________________ ¡Acompáñenos a felicitar a Madison Ruiz, de la Escuela Primaria Schulze, y ganadora del concurso de arte de STEM del distrito! Our Harlandale Makerspace Center recently hosted a hands-on STEM camp that gave our littlest learners a chance to dive into robotics, drones, coding, game shoutcasting and more. We can’t wait to see how they carry that spark of creativity into the new school year!

Adams Elementary 4th grader Manuel Aguilar, known as “Manny the Mayor” on campus had his dream come true with a visit to City Hall and a one-on-one with Mayor Ron Nirenberg. He came prepared with a list of questions and even got to sit behind the Mayor’s desk! While posing for photos in his “Manny the Mayor” shirt, he ran into newly elected Mayor Gina Ortiz. Manny truly reminded us just how powerful our students’ dreams can be. #MannyTheMayor #HarlandaleLegacy _________________________________________________________________________________ Manuel Aguilar, estudiante de cuarto grado de la Escuela Primaria Adams, conocido como "Manny the Mayor" en la escuela, cumplió su sueño al visitar el Ayuntamiento de la Ciudad y poder personalmente entrevistar al alcalde Ron Nirenberg. Llegó preparado con una lista de preguntas e incluso se sentó detrás del escritorio del alcalde. Mientras posaba para fotos con su playera de "Manny the Mayor", se topó con la recién electa alcaldesa Gina Ortiz. Harlandale ISD recently hosted its first-ever in-district robotics competition at our Makerspace! Students competed in two divisions: Driver-Controlled and Autonomous.
